FAQ
:

Q: Do I bring my computer, or do you supply them?
A:
The event is BYOC - bring your own computer. We supply nothing but consoles for free-play available to paying attendees.

Q: Where do I register for tournaments?
A:
You register at the event. This is to prevent folks from registering months in advance, then canceling and never telling us. We generally start collecting names an hour or two before the event starts, but some admins may be open to taking names at any time.

Q:
I don't PC game; I am a console gamer only.
A: That's fine! You are welcome to bring your console and a monitor / TV (that is not huge) to play games on. Alternatively, STGC has consoles of its own that you can play on. Just be sure to share! :)

Q: I've never been to SUNYIT. How do I get there?
A: http://sunyit.edu/directions/ has the directions to SUNYIT from many directions. If you are still confused, please send us an email and we will be more than happy to help you out.

Q: I can't attend a meeting! Can I still pay the pre-registration fee of $15 instead of the registration fee of $25 at the door?
A: Maybe. Send us an email and explain your circumstances. Most of the time we will ask for a check to be mailed to us (details on who to fill it out for to follow). However in certain cases we may hold a spot for you and have you pay it the day of the LAN.

Q: What if I pre-register and can't make it? Do I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately we cannot refund your registration fee. Do not register unless you are sure you will be able to make it (or unless you don't mind donating us money). Once it's in our hands, it's ours. All you can get is our condolences that you are unable to make it.

Q: Does RSVPing on Facebook count as pre-registering?
A: No. RSVPing merely lets us know approximately how many people we can expect so we can figure out spending habits ahead of time (like how many cases of Bawls to buy).

Q: I'm bringing a group with me! Can we get a discount?
A: That's great!.....no. Unfortunately since prizes are determined by the money we get, and we have limited space for people, we cannot give any further discounts. However we would be more than happy to pay special recognition to your attendance at the event.

Q: I'm from out of town. Where do I stay overnight?
A: Hopefully, the student center! We have reserved a room specifically for attendees to be sleeping in. However we are still waiting to hear back for approval of the room. If, however, you do require a place to stay off-campus for any reason, we would be more than happy to work with you on finding you accommodations.

Q: What's this 'gravy train' thing?
A: The 'gravy train' is before fragfest starts. A group of LANers head to a local chinese buffet to freak out the people working there with a dozen+ people at once. Food is a little over 10 dollars per. Transportation is provided by you or by people carpooling.

Q: What do I do if I need to contact the officers for something (a problem, a question, etc) while at the event?
A: Each of the officers will have a walkie-talkie. The front table will also have a walkie talkie. So if you need to contact Andrew, say about purchasing something, and you seJen, you can have her contact Andrew. Likewise if you want to ask Jen a question while you are registering, you can have the front table contact her for you. A member of setup crew MIGHT have a walkie-talkie, if there is an extra, so that people getting setup are more organized.

Q: What do we get for coming to the LAN?
A: Besides bucketfuls of fun? Everyone gets handed a swag bag when they enter. This will have a CPU magazine, a brochure listing all sponsors and all events at FragFest, ads from SUNYIT, your raffle ticket, and potentially other swag items depending on how many we get and how active you feel like being (often times we will have a box of swag out at a certain point, and tell people to run to it and it's first come, first serve).
